Knapp Foundry Services
The Knapp Foundry Company uses its experience and technology in supplying superior castings to its customers. Commissioning skilled local pattern makers, Knapp Foundry Company can transform the original drawing into a quality-finished product. Pattern services offered are the repairing and refurbishing of your exiting patterns to the manufacture of new wood patterns or for a one-time use, polystyrene patterns.
State-of-the-art, coreless induction furnaces are utilized to consistently produce high caliber gray and ductile irons. Gray Iron grades produced are: Class 30, 40, and 50 in castings sizes from 50 to 20,000 pounds. Ductile Iron grades produced are: Class 60-45-12, 60-40-18, 80-55-06, and 100-70-03 in casting sizes from 100 to 8,000 pounds. Should customer specifications require, specific alloying and custom mixing of iron is done.
Outside services provided are the heat treat, machining, and prime painting of castings. An independent laboratory is used for chemical and physical test results if needed.
A scrap rate (i.e. client rejections), of only one-half of one percent of castings sold, is achieved by an ongoing process of equipment updating, the use of computer mold and casting engineering, and applying the skill and dedication demanded. Also a casting inventory program can be made available, enabling prompt service.
